Specifics:
Lance will be updating to the end of season 4. Since his original point in season two, he has officially found that one of his teammates is part Galra (hi Keith!) and has seen to the initial defeat of Zarkon. Season 3 sees some significant changes to Lance's position on Team Voltron--mostly through his move from the Blue Lion to the Red Lion and seeing Keith as the leader for a time. This causes him to put more trust in Keith as a teammate while also doubting his position and purpose for the team. Season 4 doesn't explore this much, but he at least seems to be comfortable with Allura now being Blue's Paladin, even encouraging her role as the "heart" of Voltron. He likely still struggles with understanding his role and feeling comfortable with Red, but as Keith abandons the team, he isn't too worried about a shift in lions again for the time being--nor is he threatened by possibly being tossed from the team and losing Paladin status. He is very dedicated to the Voltron Coalition, and the shows they put on to gain support--if anything season 4 highlights his role as a showboater amongst his friends.

As for powers, Lance's will shift just slightly. He will still maintain the power of Paladin Armor (Blue armor suit, comm link, shield...but now with the Red Bayard). This is to align with his change in canon. However, he will be shifting lions to the RED Lion--Keith's player has confirmed to also update post lion switch and thus there will not be duplicate lions. The Red Lion will be the size of a normal lion but will have the added bonus of being made of a comet alloy, as well as having a mouth canon, tail laser cannon, and a rail gun that can attach to her back. Lance will be losing his ice beam power (since that was tied up with his connection to the Blue Lion) and it will be replaced with the ability to spontaneously generate milkshakes that bring all the boys/girls/aliens to the yard. Essentially, he can make a milkshake at any moment in time--honestly, this is due to the fact he is the only one in canon that apparently understands how to milk a cow, and the fact that it fits with the overall humorous nature his has in canon.
